WHO’s 'Global Report on Ageism' released
The WHO’s 'Global Report on Ageism' has been released following the launch in Geneva mentioned in the AAG’s Thursday3 of 18 March. This report brings together the best available evidence about the prevalence and impacts of ageism – and the huge costs to individuals, our communities, and economies. The report also clearly sets out the available evidence about what works to reduce ageism. To complement the report, there is a comprehensive campaign toolkit, with powerful images like the one above along with this short and powerful video.
AAG, as a member of the EveryAGE Counts Coalition Steering Group, is pleased to note that the WHO Global Report on Ageism (pp142-144) recognised EveryAGE Counts as a promising, research-based campaign to end ageism against older people. Ashton Applewhite, 2019 AAG Conference keynote speaker, was at the launch, having peer reviewed the report.
