Both funding rounds offer an additional grant with a substantive dementia focus, as part of a partnership between the AAG Research Trust and Dementia Australia Research Foundation. At the discretion of the AAG Research Trust and Dementia Australia Research Foundation, this funding may be used to expand the number of grants that can be funded by making an award to a quality and fundable dementia focused application.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Islander led research

The Aboriginal and Torres Islander Ageing Advisory Group, which has been made up of Indigenous members of AAG since 2006, and Aboriginal and non-Indigenous researchers have recommended and informed a focus on research on ageing with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   Accordingly, the AAG Research Trust is interested in receiving Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander led research applications with older Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.  Further information is detailed in the application guidelines
