New AAG report – Data Linkage for CALD

New AAG report – Data Linkage for CALD

We are delighted to share a new AAG report ‘Using government data and data linkage to promote health and improve the ageing experience for Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) population’.

The Report came from an AAG workshop that provided a space to discuss the large potential to better use government administrative and nation data sets to better understand cultural and linguistic diversity and ageing. The workshop was part of the 2021 AAG Conference – Digital, and was hosted by AAG’s The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse special interest group.

Throughout the workshop the conflicting approaches around the use and definition of the terms used to describe cultural and linguistic diversity were discussed, with participants at times sharing their lived experiences and perspectives.
This workshop report reflects the presentations and discussions had during the workshop, namely, the unique opportunity that data linkage offers to connect data between a variety of organisation and services. The report indicates the need to develop inclusive, safe, fair, and equitable policies and services to support older people.

With Australia having one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse populations, expanding your knowledge is crucial.
