2020 AAG Conference goes digital
The 2020 AAG Conference is moving wholly online and will optimise your connections, engagement and knowledge. The 53rd AAG Conference - Digital will run from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th November, with collaborative forums/workshops running on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th November.
You can register for the 2020 AAG Conference today from as little as $99.
Our theme of “A Climate for Change in Ageing’ was prescient with the Covid-19 pandemic, joining other major issues to be engaged in including the Royal Commission into Aged Care, Climate Change and Black Lives Matter, all of which are having significant impacts on ageing and older people.
We made the regrettable decision to cancel the traditional face to face Conference in Hobart this year due to the significant uncertainty in relation to Covid-19 in Australia which is unlikely to disappear before 2021. This will allow us to focus on delivering a high quality and exciting digital program for you.
AAG had planned to have a greater digital focus this year, as it not only increases equitable access but also supports our climate change focus, but fast tracked this when Covid-19 hit.
Despite the turmoil of Covid-19, we still received over 330 abstracts with three quarters of submitters selecting to present on-line when given the choice.
The 53rd AAG Conference has over 250 presentations and interactive sessions, as well as six workshops and training opportunities, plus an array of leading thinkers both from Australia and overseas. ABC’s Radio National’s ‘Big Ideas’ program will be again broadcasting from the digital AAG Conference.
Professor Michel Poulain, the 2020 AAG Gary Andrews International Fellow and founder of the ‘Blue Zones’ in Europe, will be presenting, along with Professor Maggie Walter, a leading thinker and activist for improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and changing the dynamics around race relations. We will be announcing more speakers in the coming months, so keep an eye on the 2020 AAG Conference website.
Register for the Early Bird rates which will close on 21st of August from as low as $99.
