2021-04 AAG submission on MRFF Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission Implementation Plan
The Medical Research Future Fund’s (MRFF) Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission (the Mission) was announced in December 2018 to provide $185 million for research to support older people to maintain their health and quality of life as they age, live independently for longer and access quality care when they need it.
The Mission’s Roadmap is a high level strategic document that includes the aim, vision, goal and priorities for investment for the Mission. To support the Roadmap, the Implementation Plan outlines the priorities for investment (short, medium and long term), evaluation approaches and measures, supporting activities, and collaborative opportunities.
A consultation on the draft Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission Roadmap was held in January to February 2020, where a series of questions were asked to assist in the further development of the Roadmap.
Feedback received through the consultation was considered by the Expert Advisory Panel. Following this, the Roadmap was updated and an Implementation Plan developed. The draft Roadmap and Implementation Plan have been reviewed by an international panel of experts who provided feedback and advice in the context of relevant activities occurring internationally.
