Rethinking the Management of Type 2 Diabetes in the Community: Findings from the Patient Engagement and Coaching for Health Study

This forum will present findings from the Patient Engagement And Coaching for Health (PEACH) large diabetes trial in Victoria and discuss the implications of its findings for clinical practice and policy. The content will be of interest to all those delivering care to older people in the community with diabetes or chronic diseases.

Hear from Leading Expert

Dr Irene Blackberry, Deputy Leader Ageing, Chronic Disease and Equity Research, General Practice and Primary Health Care Academic Centre, the University of Melbourne and Research Fellow, National Ageing Research Institute

Irene is a health services researcher with significant skills in designing and conducting pragmatic trials in general practice. Her previous training as a medical graduate combined with her passion for translating ageing and chronic disease research evidence have shaped her emerging research profile in nutrition, chronic disease self-management, healthy ageing, and diabetes. She is currently supervising 7 higher degree research students. She is a member of the NHMRC Research Translation Faculty and the Victorian AAG Executive Committee.
