Looking Forward: Ageing in the NT AUGUST
The NT has the fastest proportional growth in its elderly population in Australia. The elderly make up approximately 9% of the population of the NT and it is predicted to grow to 14% by 2025. This population is increasingly utilising acute, community and residential care services.
The workshop will provide a holistic overview of ageing in the NT by bringing together speakers from a variety of specialised disciplines. Participants will be provided with current, relevant strategies to incorporate into their daily practice. In this forum, participants will:
- Learn more about the demographics of ageing in the NT
- Consider issues specific to Indigenous ageing
- Understand best practice principles in assessing and managing age related conditions
- Explore pathways for appropriate referrals
- Develop networks for support
