Exercise Prescription for Older Adults Living in Residential Aged Care

Residents of aged care facilities are likely to experience a range of comorbidities. To optimise their physical, functional and social health, quality, evidence based management is required. In this seminar, we will consider exercise prescription within residential aged care.

Prof Nicola Lautenschlager will speak about research initiatives to delay cognitive decline using lifestyle-based interventions.

Associate Professor in Exercise and Sport Psychology, University of South Australia

A/Prof Gaynor Parfitt will introduce the Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre (CDPC)-funded Exercise Physiology in Aged Care project to evaluate the implementation of exercise physiology in aged care at Helping Hand.

A/Prof Gaynor Parfit will be joined by Alison Penington (EP), a care worker and a family member of a resident for a panel discussion chaired by Lui Di Venuto.

This will be followed by Q&A with the audience.
