Aged Care Workforce Reforms: What they mean for you!

Population ageing has resulted in an increased need for aged care workers in Australia. To cope with this demand, the Australian government has commissioned workforce reforms in the sector. This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss these reforms in more detail.

Following an opening address by Deb Blow, workshop participants will be given the opportunity to discuss what these reforms mean to them in order to drive the workforce agenda further and create a community of practice to discuss these issues in the future.

The workshop aims to create a knowledge network of stakeholders in the aged care sector, which includes the aged care industry, Medicare Local, researchers, primary health service providers and consumers. The workshop provides participants with the opportunity to discuss the issues raised in the keynote presentation and consider the meaning of these workforce reform in aged care within the local Gold Coast region context.
