Strategic Research Grants
The Strategic Research Grants funding program is focussed on early and mid-career researchers (up to eight years post-PhD, considering career interruption), and practitioners engaged in research.
Following the success of the inaugural grants last year, the Strategic Research Grants will be aiming to develop research capacity in the diverse fields related to ageing in Australia. It supports the development and translation of the evidence base, through facilitating dynamic and responsive research that will improve research impact by contributing to research programs and research translation.
Priority will be given to applications that address one or both of the following funding priority areas:
~ Proposals that identify and create connections between research, policy and practice to improve the experience of ageing
~ ‘Intimacy and Ageing’ (AAG 2019 Hot Topic)
AAG Research Trust has partnered with the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF), to fund quality applications that seek to improve the lives of older people living with dementia, their families and carers. At the discretion of the AAG Research Trust and DARF, this funding may be used to expand the number of $30k grants that can be funded under the 2019 Strategic Research Grants.
The Strategic Research Grants initiative was made possible by the generous bequest from the estate of William Peter Steele Nicolson.
The second funding round of the Strategic Research Grants is offering two $30,000 grants for projects of 18 month duration. The funding round will open on Monday 3rd June and closes 29th July 2019.
You must be logged into our website before you can access the application portal. You must be a current financial AAG member to apply.
This funding round will run concurrently with the inaugural round of the Hal Kendig Research Development Program (An application for the same proposed project can be made separately to both funding rounds, but would need to meet the specific selection criteria for each one).
