Strategic Research Grants
The Strategic Research Grants funding program is focussed on early and mid-career researchers (up to eight years post-PhD,considering career interruption), and practitioners engaged in research.
The Strategic Research Grants aims to develop research capacity in the diverse fields related to ageing in Australia. It supports the development and translation of the evidence base, through facilitating dynamic and responsive research that will improve research impact by contributing to research programs and research translation.
The Strategic Research Grants initiative was made possible by the generous bequest from the estate of William Peter Steele Nicolson in 2016/17.
The next funding round will be in early 2021 and run in parallel with the 2021 RM Gibson Research Fund
AAG Research Trust has partnered with the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF), to fund quality applications that seek to improve the lives of older people living with dementia, their families and carers. At the discretion of the AAG Research Trust and DARF, this funding may be used to expand the number of grants that can be funded under the 2021 Strategic Research Grants.
