Strategic Research Grants
In line with the purpose of the AAG Research Trust, the focus of the Strategic Research Grants program is to increase knowledge and understanding of gerontology. The 2018 Strategic Research Grants initiative is a new funding program of the AAG Research Trust and was made possible by the generous bequest from the estate of William Peter Steele Nicolson.
The Strategic Research Grants funding program is focussed on early and mid-career researchers (up to eight years post-PhD, considering career interruption), and practitioners engaged in research. We will fund up to two strategic grants of $30,000 each this year.
The AAG Research Trust would like to congratulate the 2018 awardees who received their awards at the recent National Conference in Melbourne. Presenting them was our President Prof Christine Stirling:
Dr Alison Rahn
University of New England
Project title: “Permission to Speak: Giving older adults a voice in teaching health and aged care providers how to communicate about intimate matters”
Dr Monica Cations
Project title: “Developing safe and inclusive models of aged care practice for survivors of psychological trauma: Learning from the Forgotten Australians”
The next funding round will open in June 2019.
