RM Gibson Research Fund
The RM Gibson Research Fund was set up to honour the memory of Dr Richard (Dick) Maxwell Gibson who played a foundation role in the development of gerontology within Australia and beyond. Dick made a significant contribution to AAG, including serving as National President and the inaugural Chairman of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics Asia Oceania Region.
The RM Gibson Research Fund is structured as a sub-fund of the AAG Research Trust.
In line with the purpose of the AAG Research Trust, the focus of the RM Gibson Research Fund relates to research for furthering the knowledge and understanding of gerontology.
The RM Gibson Research Fund supports early career researchers in the diverse fields related to ageing in Australia and the translation of the evidence base into policy and practice.
The next funding round will be in early 2021.
AAG Research Trust has partnered with the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF), to fund quality applications that seek to improve the lives of older people living with dementia, their families and carers. At the discretion of the AAG Research Trust and DARF, this funding may be used to expand the number of grants that can be funded in 2021.
