Maryam Ghahramani Division Committee Member Dr Maryam Ghahramani is a Senior Lecturer and the Program Director of Engineering at the University of Canberra. She completed her PhD at the University of Wollongong, where she studied how changes in walking and movement can help identify the risk of falls in older adults. Her research integrates health and digital technologies, with a focus on dementia, Parkinson’s disease, ageing, postural control, and pain assessment. She employs multimodal sensing and computational analytics to quantify changes in movement and balance, supporting early detection, evidence-based rehabilitation, and the development of interventions that promote safety, independence, and quality of life. She is strongly committed to translational research that benefits people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and age-related conditions, as well as the families and carers who support them. |
