AAG welcomes the opportunity to provide a submission on the impact of the Transition of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) to the Support at Home (S@H) Program. This submission draws on member consultations (including a national drop-in session open to all members of AAG) and targeted discussions with provider members such as the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL). BSL is a social justice organisation working towards an Australia free of poverty. BSL’s purpose is to advance a fair Australia through leadership on policy reform, partnerships with communities and quality services. BSL’s approach is informed directly by people experiencing disadvantage, and BSL provides a full suite of CHSP supports, including supporting those living with hoarding and squalor, day programs, and overnight respite. AAG has worked with BSL on the preparation of this submission, including seeking input from BSL staff who provide CHSP. Their input is referenced throughout this submission.
