The Hal Kendig Research Development Program

About

The aim of the Hal Kendig Research Development Program (HKRDP) of the AAG Research Trust is to build the capacity of early career researchers to develop a track record in applying for grants, and to support a discrete research effort. Priority is given to applied research that aims to improve the experience of vulnerable older people in advanced aged, with a strong emphasis on psycho-social research and quality of life.

This grant program is made possible by a generous donation from the family of Professor Hal Kendig.

Purpose of the HKRDP

The purpose of grants made available through the HKRDP is to:

  • Enable a discrete research project that provides evidence and critical thinking to further the interests of vulnerable older people in advanced age, with a strong emphasis on the psycho-social aspects of ageing and quality of life;

  • Support early career researchers to improve their track record to lead to future research funding (a grant or a fellowship), and to support a discrete research effort that provides evidence and critical thinking that furthers the interests of vulnerable older people in advanced age (with a strong emphasis on quality of life and psycho-social dimensions of wellbeing);

  • Help early career researchers build their grant record for future applications for larger grants and/or fellowships.
