Dr Sheralee Tamaliunas RN is an experienced clinician and senior health sector leader with over 28 years in the Western Australian public health system. She in the inaugural Chief Clinical Excellence Officer at Brightwater Care Group (aged care and disability) where she provides strategic leadership over quality, safety and policy; communications, media and customer experience; education and clinical specialties (dementia and palliative care), and the Brightwater Research Centre.
Driven by a deep commitment to equity, safe care and building capable, values-led teams, Sheralee has led landmark reforms including the implementation of nurse and midwife patient ratios across WA Health, the WA Health Workforce Strategy 2034, the Enhanced Access Community Pharmacy Pilot and Leading Great Care. Sheralee was a member of the Commonwealth Health Workforce Taskforce, contributing to national workforce strategy and advice on priority workforce matters. She has also served on several national and state workforce advisory boards over her career.
Committed to leadership development beyond the health sector, Sheralee has mentored emerging leaders through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Pacific Region Women's Leadership Initiative and continues to mentor through the Office of Migrant Interests — Board ready program reflecting her broader dedication to equity, inclusion and community.
Sheralee is committed to lifelong learning and holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Masters and several speciality Postgraduate Diplomas and is the Deputy Board Chair of Community Skills WA.
