Cathy Lock has been a member of the AAG and the SA/NT Committee for 10 years, including active involvement on the SA Gerontology conference organising committee, and has a strong interest in promoting research and learning about ageing. Her training in social work has led to a career in community care in ageing and disability. This has included direct service provision of complex case management and clinical social work in home support services, 4 years work in the establishment of the inaugural SA statewide program to respond to elder abuse, and several years as quality improvement manager of a large government community aged care organisation. Cathy currently works as the consumer participation coordinator in Metropolitan Domiciliary Care, supporting consumer consultation systems and effective consumer influence and outcomes in individual and organisational decision making.

Educational program
Each year the SA/NT Division has a program of thematically linked meetings for its members and members of associated organisations consisting of seminars, symposia and special interest meetings, including seminars in rural areas. In addition it runs an annual one day scientific conference that includes in it the "ACH Group Sir Keith Wilson Oration".
