Policy Issues
The AAG has an important and growing role as a contributor to the development of Australian ageing policy. This role is exercised directly through:
- Participation in stakeholder forums
- Contribution of expertise for working groups
- Submissions to inquiries
- Media releases, interviews and articles
- Education through seminars, lectures and symposia on key policy issues
- Direct lobbying of government or industry
The AAG influences policy indirectly through the contributions of individual members who draw upon research, education and network opportunities provided through participation in AAG activities.
To support the AAG policy development role, a Policy Advisory Committee has been established. Please contact the AAG Executive Officer for further information or to contribute.
