ARC/NHMRC Research Network in Ageing Well

The ARC/NHMRC Research Network in Ageing Well was funded by the Commonwealth as part of the Australian Government's Research Network Grants Program. The aims of this overall program were to enhance the scale and focus of national research activity, stimulate innovation, and support researchers to connect with others. The Networks were meant to identify and address areas of strength, opportunity, or need where increased research effort would make a significant contribution to national outcomes.

The objectives of the Ageing Well Network were to:

  • lead and facilitate collaboration in multi-disciplinary, large scale research
  •  facilitate international research involvement
  •  build capacities and excellence in ageing studies through support and mentoring
  • enable communication among researchers in setting agendas, proposals, and accessing data
  • involve key constituencies (community, government, and industry)
  • translate research findings to inform actions.
